From Employee to Business Owner
Good Business Co. was founded by Joseph Williams, a small-business owner and operator.
Joseph’s experience didn’t begin in consulting. It began as an employee.
Over time, he learned the business from the inside, eventually purchased it, and took responsibility for everything that comes with ownership.
Through hands-on experience, he worked to improve staffing, scheduling, pricing, food costs, customer experience, technology, marketing, delivery platforms, and new revenue opportunities.
The business grew significantly, creating opportunities to expand and test new ideas.
Lessons From Both Growth and Setbacks
Eventually, Joseph expanded into a second location.
While expansion brought new opportunities, it also introduced higher fixed costs, staffing challenges, operational complexity, and difficult decisions.
The second location was ultimately closed when continuing no longer made financial sense.
Not every decision worked, and those experiences became just as valuable as the successes.
Running a business through both growth and setbacks provides a perspective that can’t be gained from studying business theory alone.
Still Operating. Still Learning.
Joseph continues operating Fit Factory Grill while exploring new systems, technology, marketing strategies, revenue channels, and business opportunities.
His experience extends beyond restaurants into vending, service businesses, digital tools, and small-business development.
Good Business Co. was created to share that practical operating experience with other business owners.
Our Approach
We don’t believe every business needs a consultant on retainer.
We believe in identifying a problem, prioritizing practical improvements, helping implement the right solution, and leaving the owner with systems they can continue using.
We’re not here to tell you we know your business better than you do.
We’re here to bring another perspective, ask useful questions, and help you make improvements that fit your goals, resources, and operation.
